STAFF_DavidMullins

David Mullins – Bradenton, FL.

Speaker, teacher, writer, musician and recently co-producer of the movie “Ragamuffin,” David Mullins seeks to use these gifts to take the simple, life-changing word of God’s love to both the lost and to those in the Church who believe they are unlovable, unaccepted and unworthy of His love.
David is currently serving as Corporate Chaplain and Vice-President of Human Resources for Updog Production Company. In this position David is privileged to speak into the lives of the employees by using the skills and giftings garnered from over two decades of located ministry; giving spiritual direction and formation, pastoral counseling, devotional opportunities and serving as part of the leadership in providing a moral compass and accountability for this Christian owned company.

Sam Howard - Carmel, IN.

Sam Howard is the pastor of The Gathering in Carmel. Sam’s passion is to help build a community of Christ-followers who will impact the larger world around them with the love, loyalty and friendship with Jesus. Sam’s journey has been an eclectic one; ordained minister, conference speaker, Bible teacher, elder, financial advisor and pharmaceutical rep. In the summer of 2011, he realized a long term dream by planting The Gathering. Sam is thrilled to be doing what he loves: teaching the stories of God, listening to stories of the people around him, and hanging out in coffee shops, restaurants and homes meeting the people in his town. Part of the leadership of Zion Ministries with Rich Mullins, Sam is pleased to be returning to his ministry roots by teaching in retreats.

Kathy Sprinkle – West Chester, OH.

For decades, Kathy has been immersed in working with people; troubled teens and runaways, foster children, women facing crisis pregnancies and those needing to flee domestic abuse. She has a heart for the broken and believes that when people trust her with their woundedness and secrets, it is indeed a sacred, holy place. She is currently a trauma counseling therapist through her private practice, Charis Counseling and serves as a regular adjunct instructor of counseling and sociology at Cincinnati Christian University and their graduate school, Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Years ago, Kathy was one of the founding members of Zion Ministries alongside Rich Mullins, where she worked to develop their retreat team. For her, Walking Stick Retreats is like going home again.

Elizabeth Lutz - Bright, IN.

Elizabeth Lutz, known to many as Beth, lives just over the line from Cincinnati in rural Indiana. Surviving life as a preacher’s kid, she found life and increased freedom in discovering and learning many tools available to navigate life and its myriad relationships. Beth has lived in and out of community for the better part of the last 40 years and has worked in the travel industry throughout. She loves wondering how God will next reveal Himself, and, thanks to the blessing of finding her language in music in her years with Zion Ministries, knows she will most likely encounter Him piercing her heart through a minor key chord. A life filled with worship, music, camps and retreats has increased her anticipation of that next moment’s blessing.

Damon Seacott – Spring Arbor, MI.

Damon serves as the Chief of Staff at Spring Arbor University. He has the privilege of investing in the lives of young folks each day. Growing up in the Friends (Quaker) Church and being a recorded (ordained) minister has allowed Damon to realize the joy of simplicity, living in community, and following after Jesus Christ. He lives with college students in a house that is never boring and loves to take folks out for great food & fellowship.

    Hi,
Your Walking Stick Retreats sound so neat and I would love to attend one someday. I was wondering if you bring these retreats to other parts of the country? I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, which is quite some distance from your neck of the woods. It’s exciting to see this ministry is still up and running.

    God Bless

Wow! Your Walking Stick Retreats sound great and I would love to participate, but it looks like they are all back east. I’d like to join Ellen in wondering if you would ever consider bringing one of these retreats to the West coast? I would love to see one here in Citrus Heights, CA. I can even suggest a possible location if you wish as I know a couple of Christian retreat centers here in the Sierras or even one here in Citrus Heights which could serve as a location. I love the music of Rich Mullens and I love to walk (though I walk with two ‘walking sticks’ {actually Canadian crutches} all the time these days courtesy of chronic health issues}. Perhaps my church could sponsor such a retreat in this area? Blessings, Sylvia Mohr
